My title "Life is but a vapor" came from the Bible, the book of James, one of my favorite inspirational books to read. James tells us how to live life to the fullest, grabbing every moment because it quickly fades into a disappearing vapor.
Quoted in Chapter 4, verse 14, James says,
Ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away.
James further suggests that faith, patience, joy are good gifts, things we should strive for in our short lives, while we control our tongues, being swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. I certainly have not mastered the above in my many years and never will, I suspect. I just hope these guidelines have flavored my life to give it a taste of God's grace.
