Our First week in Texas

well, it has been a week already, can you believe it? The days are like hours anymore.  It has been a full week, not letting any grass grow under our feet.  Our home hosts, Gary and Pam, gave us an extensive list of restaurants to enjoy............always good to ask the locals, right?

We have been to San Antonio where we so enjoyed the Riverwalk and the boat cruise

We have also visited several bakeries like this pic on the left to get new ideas for our shop as we consider redesigning it this winter.  We are also grabbing some goodies which have looked alot better than they taste.

We have also been visiting a lot
of interesting antique stores
with lots of western decor.  I asked Paul to buy me this metal 5' bull for my garden     but the price tag was a bit over the top.

It so reminds me of this cake that I did for one of my brides who wanted it for a groom's cake.

This is the entrance to the oldest dance hall in Texas where we have gone a few nights to listen to the country music of rising hopefuls.
Mell Tillis was there this past Sat nite but many country singers like George Strait got their starts here in this building.
